Tezna Abrahams, 17 years old, recently participated in the SA Senior National Aquatics Championship hosted over the period of six days, 15th and 21st April 2013, at the Newton Park Swimming Pool in Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape.
Tezna is a Grade 12 learner at the Western Cape Sport School, Swimming for the University of Western Cape (UWC) Aquatics and represented the Western Province during this championship and obtained whopping nine (9) medals; three (3) Gold Medals and six (6) Bronze Medals for her efforts detailed as follows:
- 50m Breaststroke (Gold Medal)
- 100m Breaststroke (Gold Medal)
- 200m Individual Medley (Gold Medal)
- 50m Freestyle (Bronze Medal)
- 100m Freestyle (Bronze Medal)
- 50m Backstroke (Bronze Medal)
- 100m Backstroke (Bronze Medal)
- 50m Butterfly (Bronze Medal)
- 100m Butterfly (Bronze Medal)

Furthermore, Tezna has been selected to be part of the Swim South Africa Youth Squad in which opportunities to represent South Africa and participate in World Swimming Championships in future. Tezna is being coached by Mr. Cedric Finch and he was very pleased by her performance and her improvement in swimming times.
As a family we consistently provide support to Tezna to achieve higher goals in her swimming career. We definitely were overwhelmed by Tezna’s recent achievements as she medalled in every race that she swam.
Her aim is to improve her personal best times and her IPC World Rankings to be at least in the top ten. Her current swimming times have been updated on the IPC World Swimming Rankings and her placing on the IPC World Rankings are as follows:
