CRICKET: Provincial selections
Siphamandla Mavanda has been selected for the WC Cobras Academy Squad. He also represented the WP Academy at the WCape Academy Tournament which was held in Oudtshoorn recently. He is joined in the WC Cobras Academy by Isma-eel Gafieldien, a former learner who matriculated in 2014. Three of last year’s matric class were also selected for the WP and Boland Academy teams. They are Mlamleli Gebe & Mxolelanisi Dlakavu – Boland Academy and Yolisa Mona – WP Academy.
The selection of these players is a major step in their cricket careers as it is a stepping stone to their inclusion in the semi-professional teams of WP and Boland. We will be following their progress with great interest.
