Kyle Amon, an ex-learner (Football) of WCSS has been awarded a two-year soccer scholarship at the University of New Hampshire in the United States of America starting January 2016.
Kyle completed his Bachelor degree in Public Administration at the North-West University’s (NWU’s) Mafikeng Campus. He will be studying for a Master’s degree in Community Development, Policy and Practice at the University of New Hampshire.
He was scouted during the 2014 Varsity Football Tournament. A variety of universities in the USA showed interest in him, but he decided on the University of New Hampshire because of its good ranking and strong research focus.
“It’s a blessing, because even though I want to be a professional soccer player one day, I also need to have a good academic background. In the words of Kyle: “It’s through the Western Cape Sport School that I was granted an opportunity to attend the NWU Soccer Institute that I played Varsity Football and it’s through the Varsity Football tournament that I managed to get this all inclusive soccer scholarship.”
